Jesse Sublett

Jesse Sublett III is a musician, crime novelist, essayist, documentarian and native Texan, and not necessarily in that order. Jesse’s first three novels were published between 1989 and 1992, featuring a bass playing private eye in Austin, Texas, named Martin Fender. He also wrote for films and television, returning to Austin to pursue other interests. His most recent work is the memoir, Never the Same Again: A Rock n Roll Gothic, published in 2005 by Boaz/Tenspeed. The book chronicles his music career and his battle with stage 4 neck cancer, diagnosed in 1997. The memoir also details the darkest incident in his life, the murder of his girlfriend, Dianne Roberts, on the night of his first professional rock gig. But rock n roll and love helped save his mind and his soul and his life. The book is a roller coaster ride, full of music, laughter and tears.
