Amnesia: An Interactive Novel
 
Amnesia was a weekly interactive novel where readers would read the chapter, then vote on which of several options the main character should do next.  The voting may be over, but the story remains.
Cliff
 
All the skeletons are coming out of Cliffton, Ohio when a body is found on the campus of Cliff College.  Learn about the history of the city from others attempting to solve the case.
Crime Scene Mysteries
 
With a nod to William Faulkner, Yoknapatawpha County's Law Enforcement Division asks for your assistance to solve breaking cases.  Cyber-sleuths are able to read reports and press clippings.  Site subscribers (case detectives) have access to a Q&A section and receive information in advance.
Five Minute Mysteries
 
Running from 1995-1997, Salon.com's mystery series contains several stories, questions for the reader, and subsequent solution pages.  Note: All of the mysteries are solved, so don't bother submitting the forms to win the games.

HtG presents Painseeker, an interactive murder mystery game.  Players learn about the victim from those who knew her best, and form theories based on that information.  Players may also ask the suspects questions, review evidence, and guess as to the identity of the murderer.

Kapow
 
Kapow is a website design and consulting firm that wrote three mysteries featuring private investigator Mace Broade -- The Sanctuary, The Fish Tail, and The Caul.  The group staged "live theater happenings" where events would be staged in different parts of Los Angeles, which would later become part of the mystery.
