The Bibliophile Mailing List exists for the purpose of buying and selling rare, scarce, out-of-print, and collectible books and related material; and for discussions pertaining to these activities. Members are expected to observe the amenities of good manners and professional behavior. We welcome articles and discussions about books, including collecting, preserving, selling, etc.

DetecToday

Dedicated to the new wave of P.I. fiction and its ties to tradition. They also discuss characters similar to the P.I. in today's crime fiction. Featured authors include Crais, Lehane, Coben, Connelly, Rozan, and Seranella.

DorothyL

DorothyL is a discussion and idea list for the lovers of the mystery genre. It was concocted by a group of women librarians at a July 1991 Washington, D.C. meeting of the Association of Research Libraries and named in honor of one of the great women mystery writers of the century. Agatha Christie and Josephine Tey were strong contenders, but Dorothy L. Sayers had a LISTSERV-blessed middle initial.

Murder Must Advertise

An email discussion list for every author who wonders about the best way to promote a new mystery book. Trade ideas and practical tips for touring, direct mail, advertising, and online promotion. Talk about where to get postcards made, how to tour on a shoestring budget, who to send press releases to. Publicists, web mavens, and booksellers are welcome, too. Membership is now over 450 and traffic currently averages 15-20 messages/day.  The list is named after Dorothy L. Sayers' 1933 book, in which Lord Peter Wimsey takes a job working undercover at Pym's Publicity.

RUSS-L is a spin-off from HOUNDS-L, the original Sherlock Holmes mailing list. It is dedicated to the discussion and analysis of Laurie R. King's series of mysteries featuring Mary Russell and Sherlock Holmes. At present there are over 500 subscribers (more even than the Hounds!), and the list has been active for more than five years with lively, entertaining, and polite (!) discussion.

Sisters in Crime - Internet Chapter Mailing List

The purpose of the Internet Chapter's mailing list is to offer a forum for discussion of all matters relating to Sisters in Crime (SinC), and the discussion is open to members and nonmembers alike. The list is to serve in part as a newsletter for the Internet Chapter, to take the place of the printed newsletters put out by other chapters. But the organizers would like it to be more than just that.  Therefore, SinC authors are invited to post news here of new publications, signings, other public appearances, etc.
